Five-Star Jason Taylor Makes Pledge

PLANT CITY, Florida, November 10. SWIMMING World five-star prospect Jason Taylor has made his intentions known for where he is going to college next year.

Taylor, who swims Brandon Sports & Aquatic Center Swimming and preps at Newsome High, is sticking close to home as he is headed to the University of Florida. Taylor owns a pair of U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 400-meter free (3:55.19) and 1500-meter free (15:34.70).

"I chose Florida because I felt that it would be the best place for me to be able to accomplish my goals over the next four years," Taylor told Swimming World. "When I was on my visit there, I felt very comfortable with the team, and I look forward to the tough training and continuing my swimming career at UF next year.

Taylor is the first public pledge for the Florida men's team in the Class of 2009.
