FINA World Cup, Tokyo: Day 1 Heat Sheets Are Out!

TOKYO, Japan, November 8. THE first day of heat sheets for the FINA World Cup stop in the home of the 2020 Olympic Games — Tokyo, are now available to the public.

As always, FINA World Cup Queen Katinka Hosszu has a stacked schedule, appearing five separate times during the first day of competition with entries in the 200 free, 100 fly, 50 back, 200 IM and 200 back.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Junior National Team is in full force here in Tokyo as the squad has helped extend the preliminary competition by several heats past the norm on the FINA World Cup circuit so far. Also, while USA Swimming has not yet confirmed to Swimming World whether it is going to accept Indiana University’s mixed relay swims that were recognized as world records as the organization’s American records, Team USA will wind up with new American records in those events as they are serving up a full contingent in the mixed relay events.

FINA World Cup men’s point leader Chad Le Clos, fresh off a world-record performance in Singapore, will undertake a bit of a relaxed schedule on night one with just the 50 and 100 fly events. Meanwhile, USA’s Tom Shields is back on the tour after taking the Singapore stop off.
