FINA Short Course World Championships: Therese Alshammar Places First in 50 Fly Semifinals

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, December 17. THERESE Alshammar will be the top qualifier for the final with a meet record time of 25.19, breaking her own record of 25.23 that she set in the prelims.

Felicity Galvez will be looking to defend her title from 2008, with a second-seed time of 25.20. Lu Ying of China will take the third spot with her semifinal time of 25.41.

Inge Dekker, the 2008 bronze medalist was fourth (25.45), with Jeanette Ottesen (25.53), Triin Aljand (25.54), Christine Magnuson (25.65) and Marieke Guehrer (25.76) rounding out the top eight.
