FINA handed two-year doping bans to a swimmer and a diver today, one from Iran and the other from Colombia.

Raham Pieman Piervani tested positive for letrozole at a local swim meet this January. The drug is normally used to treat breast cancer patients and gives women pre-menopausal side effects. It has also been shown to reduce the effects of estrogen, likely one reason why it is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Piervani began her suspension on March 3.

Colombia’s Carolina Urrea tested positive for cocaine at the diving national championships in Medellin last July. Urrea found success in international junior diving before competing in 2013 at the FINA world championships. Her two-year ban started on September 2014, the date when the Colombian Swimming Federation imposed the suspension.
