FINA Announces Doping Sanction of Kuwait’s Abdul Rehaman Al Bader

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, January 23. FINA announced today that Kuwait's Abdul Rehaman Al Bader has been suspended for sixth months after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine.

The positive test occurred at the 1st GCC Games in Bahrain. The Kuwait Anti-Doping Disciplinary Commission implemented the six-month ban retroactive to Oct. 19, 2011.

Several other swimmers have been banned for a positive test for the same substance, including Brazil's Fabiola Molina and USA's Sean Mahoney. Just last year, seven total athletes in the U.S. tested positive for the substance, which is also listed on supplements as dimethylamylamine.
