Felix Aubock, Sierra Schmidt Win in Namesnik Memorial Open Finale

The 2018 Eric Namesnik Memorial Open concluded on Sunday in Ann Arbor, and two Michigan swimmers led off the day with distance victories.

Felix Aubock cruised to victory in the 1,500-meter freestyle, winning in 15:17.72, more than 30 seconds ahead of runner-up William Roberts (15:50.36) of Club Wolverine.

Sierra Schmidt won the women’s 800 free in 8:36.48.

In the 200 IM, Huiyan Yi (2:14.9) finished ahead of Yirong Bi (2:15.67) and Miranda Tucker (2:17.51). Thomas Cope won the men’s 200 IM (2:03.63).

Sophia Tuinman of Club Wolverine won the 200 back in 2:14.96. Kai Williams of Club Wolverine won the men’s event in 2:03.98.

Qingfeng Wu won the women’s 100 free (55.53) ahead of Club Wolverine’s Emma Cleason (57.37). James William Jones won the men’s 100 free in 50.40.
