Featured Swim Camp of the Week: Wyoming Swim Camp

Over the next few months, Swimming World Magazine will feature a camp specializing in teaching swimmers how to improve their technique, swim faster and have fun with some of the biggest names in swimming. Motivation is the part of every package! Programs may include day and overnight camps as well as distance and stroke specialization. This week we are featuring the Wyoming Swim Camp.

Wyoming Head Swimming Coach Tom Johnson is hosting the 16th Wyoming Swim Camp this summer. Wyoming Swim Camp is a premier summer swimming experience and is proud to offer its winning tradition to competitive swimmers. Coach Johnson, Coach Matt Leach and Coach Kirk Ermels, Coach Caitlin Hamilton and the staff stresses the importance of swimming with outstanding stroke technique in a positive training environment.

The swim camps are held at the beautiful campus of the University of Wyoming located 135 miles north of Denver, and is convenient to Denver International Airport as well as the Cheyenne and Laramie airports. The University of Wyoming offers an outstanding summer experience at 7220 feet, offering the opportunity of altitude training at the highest Division I school in the United States.

Wyoming Swim Camp is open to athletes aged 9 years and older. Staff ratios generally range 1:8 coach-to-swimmer ratio. It is also one of the few camps that offers video analysis at no additional charge. It is recommended that participants are competitive swimmers.

Starts and Turns – June 5-7
Camp 1 and Intensive Camp 1 – June 7-12
Camp 2 and Intensive Camp 2 – June 14-19
Start and Turn Camp 2 – June 19-21
Start and Turn 3 – June 26-28

Starts and Turns clinic: $195 for day campers, $230 for resident campers
Camp 1 and 2: $350 for day campers, $190 for resident campers
Intensive Camp 1 and 2: $395 for day campers, $430 for resident campers
