Estonian Coach Banned for Life for Doping Violation

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, August 8. FINA announced on Thursday that Estonian coach Nikolai Borzov has been banned for life. The governing body claimed that he had given one of his swimmers an anabolic steroid by spiking a drink. That swimmer, Anita Stepanenko, tested positive for the banned substance stanozolol in May at a dual meet between Estonia and Finland.

Stepanenko received a one-year suspension for the positive test. The suspension expires on July 22, 2014.
