Eric Nilsson Sets Meet Record in Second Night of Minneapolis Speedo Sectional

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, July 19. ERIC Nilsson of Bluefish Swim Club set a meet record during the second night of long course meter swimming at the Minneapolis Speedo Sectional held on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Nilsson notched a time of 1:52.30 in the men's 200 freestyle to clip the record of 1:52.97 set by Brandon Crook on July 27, 2001.

In other men's action, Alex Wold of Minnesota Aquatics claimed the 400 IM in 4:30.94, while his teammate David Russell hit the wall in 56.72 to win the 100 back.

Minnesota Aquatics won again, this time in the women's 200 free as Yuen Kobayashi touched out Minot YMCA's Dagny Knutson, 15, 2:03.22 to 2:03.44.

Meanwhile, Sun Devil Aquatics' Angela Duckworth, 16, took home the 400 IM title in 5:00.68, while Minnesota Aquatics' Roxane Akradi won a close battle over Knutson in the 100 back, 1:04.03 to 1:04.51, to give the Golden Gophers another victory.
