eo Hires Mike Bottom As Product Advisor & Coach Education for eo SwimBETTER.

eo, an Australian-based sports technology lab with a vision to accelerate human progress through sport, has appointed the esteemed former University of Michigan men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach, Mike Bottom as Product Advisor & Coach Education for eo SwimBETTER.

Bottom, a revered figure in the swimming world who served as the University of Michigan Head Swimming and Diving coach for 15 years until retiring in August of this year, will collaborate with eo to educate swim coaches and swimmers at swim clubs and national team camps on how to utilize eo SwimBETTER in their training.

Small enough to wear in the palm of the hand, eo SwimBETTER accurately measures the applied force of the swimmer’s hands across six different vectors. It delivers real-time insights into crucial metrics such as stroke path, hand velocity, consistency, stroke rate and applied forces, while providing immediate and actionable feedback.

Bottom is developing a series of eo SwimBETTER clinics to provide expert guidance for coaches and swimmers on capturing swim stroke data, analyzing it, and implementing changes in the stroke.

“When the eo team introduced me to eo SwimBETTER, I was intrigued and put it to the test. The results were nothing short of extraordinary,” said Bottom. “As someone who constantly explores cutting-edge technologies in swimming, I was amazed by the amount of data it delivers and the instantaneous feedback it provides. Within just a minute of data collection, I could offer swimmers invaluable insights. The ability to visualize and adjust their stroke in real time is unparalleled. This opportunity enables me to grow as a coach, which is something I deeply value.”

Bottom’s alignment with eo SwimBETTER underscores his commitment to pushing the boundaries of coaching excellence. Together eo and Bottom signal a new era of data-driven training, offering swimmers and coaches an unparalleled advantage in the pursuit of mastery.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Bottom join our team,” said Jaimie Fuller, Chairman and Co-Founder of eo. “His coaching legacy and passion for innovation align perfectly with our mission. I have no doubt that our shared vision will redefine excellence in the world of swimming.”

“The great thing about this device is it really does help all levels of swimmers whether you are a lower-level swimmer, masters swimmer, elite swimmer or a triathlete,” said Bottom. “It makes them excited. It’s a motivator. It’s a medal around the neck when you can see where changes need to be made, acting on them, and seeing the improvements.”
