Stanford junior Ella Eastin has had herself quite an NCAA Championships. Eastin broke two American Records in the IM races, and added a third individual title with a win in the 200 fly on Saturday night at Ohio State.

Eastin swam a 1:50.01 which was a little off her 1:49.51 NCAA record from Pac-12’s last month. Eastin went 1-2 with Stanford teammate Katie Drabot, who has quietly had a phenomenal meet. Drabot was second in the final at 1:51.73, as she stays eighth all-time in the event.

Early leader Louise Hansson of USC was out blazing the first 100 but faded to third with a 1:52.25.

Cal’s Katie McLaughlin (1:52.64), Georgia’s Megan Kinglsey (1:52.66), USC’s Maddie Wright (1:53.40), Louisville’s Grace Oglesby (1:53.46) and Michigan’s Vanessa Krause (1:54.08) also competed in the championship final.

This is Stanford’s 12th overall 200 fly NCAA title as Eastin joins Janel Jorgensen (1990, 1993), Summer Sanders (1991, 1992), Misty Hyman (1998, 2001), Shelly Ripple (2002) and Elaine Breeden (2007, 2009, 2010) as winners for the Cardinal. This is Eastin’s second straight win in the event.
