Eddie Reese is one of the most calm and collected coaches on the deck at any men’s NCAA championships, but when he saw that six of his athletes made the championship final of the 100 butterfly today, “my heart rate got over 50.” In this interview with the media, he said he expected all six of the athletes to swim faster in the final and why he’s working so hard to get them to breathe less in butterfly races.

He also goes into detail about Will Licon’s 400 IM and his pronouncement back in September that the sophomore would win the NCAA title.
