Dynamo Swim Club’s Jonathan Vater will be staying in state when he heads to college next fall at Georgia Tech. A two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Vater will add depth to a Yellow Jackets’ sprint freestyle group led by Noah Harasz and Rodrigo Correia.

Swimming for Alpharetta High School, Vater placed second in the 50 free at Georgia 6A High School championships as a junior. At Winter Juniors (East), he was a member of Dynamo’s bronze medal 400 medley relay, which also set a new Georgia state record. Vater’s relay prowess was on display in the long course season as well, anchoring Dynamo’s 400 medley relay at the Atlanta Futures meet in a 51.45.

His best times are (SCY/LCM):
50 Free 21.05 / 24.22
100 Free 45.39 / 52.77
200 Free 1:41.29 / 1:57.05
100 Fly 51.12 / 59.09

Vater joins Dynamo teammates Jonathan Yang and Julia Shuford as members of the Yellow Jacket class of 2021.
