Dutch Sprint Championships: Short Course Meters Meet Concludes

ALKMAAR, The Netherlands, June 28. THE Dutch Sprint Championships concluded after two days of sprint events held over short course meters.

Bas van Velthoven cruised in the men's 50 free with a winning time of 22.15. Joran Barends touched second in 22.80, while Joost Reijns placed third in 22.82. Lona Kroese followed in the women's 100 back with a time of 1:02.26. Wendy van den Zanden (1:02.52) and Tessa Brouwer (1:02.69) placed second and third in a close finish.

Bastiaan Tamminga earned the men's 50 back title in 24.80 with Jan Kersten (25.00) and Jurjen Willemsen (25.38) completing the top three. Willemijn Knot captured the women's 50 fly in 27.28, while Kelly de Jong (27.59) and Jessica Spruit (27.79) finished second and third.

Erik Talma clocked a 28.21 to win the men's 50 breast, while Pieter Jan de Vries tied Devi Wolthuizen for second with matching 28.50s.
