North Carolina-native Erin Conroy has announced that she is committing to swim at Duquesne University, where she figures to be a big contributor for head coach David Sheets and the Dukes.

“I chose Duquesne because it is the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically. The atmosphere that the team and coaches create is something that I cannot wait to be a part of! Go Dukes!!!”

Conroy swims for the Raleigh Swim Association and is primarily a freestyler. Her times in the 200 free (1:55.50), 500 free (5:04.53) and 1650 free (17:36.56) would have put her just outside of scoring range at last season’s Atlantic-10 championships. She also has clocked 10:25.56 in the 1000 free.

Long course, Conroy’s best times include a 2:11.91 in the 200 free, 4:35.91 in the 400 free, 9:28.42 in the 800 free and 18:01.85 in the 1500.
