Kristian Gkolomeev is looking to defend his 50 freestyle NCAA title tonight at the men’s championships in Iowa City, and his coach says he’s been putting the work in to make it happen. In this video interview with Swimming World’s Mike Stott, Alabama coach Dennis Pursley talks about “just scratching the surface” of Gkolomeev’s potential and what that means as the Greek native fully begins to understand short course yards racing.

Pursley talks about the training Gkolomeev undergoes with sprint coach Jonty Skinner and what the potential is for Gkolomeev looking ahead to next year’s Olympic Games.
