NEW COMMIT: Clarkston, Mich. native and breaststroker Alexis Moon has announced her verbal commitment to Delta State University beginning in the fall of 2021.
She will join Sydney Crawford and Kelsey Farmer as a member of the Statesmen’s Class of 2025.
She told Swimming World:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my swim and academic career at Delta State University! I can’t thank my family, friends, and coaches enough for helping me get to where I am today! Go statesman!”
Currently swimming for Club Wolverine, Moon last competed at the Michigan Open in February where she finished eighth in the 200m breast. In Summer 2019, she finaled in the 50m breast and 200m breast at Cleveland Sectionals before going on to take fifth in the 50m breast, seventh in the 100m breast, and second in the 200m breast at the Michigan LCM Open.
Her best times include:
- 50 breast – 31.01
- 100 breast – 1:05.52
- 200 breast – 2:20.15
- 200 IM – 2:11.65
Also competing for Clarkstown High School, Moon raced at the Michigan DI State Championships during her freshman and sophomore seasons. In 2017, she finished 15th in the 100 breast.
Moon will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus next fall as her best times already rank near the top of their lineup. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 breast as well as the B-final of the 200 IM at the 2020 New South Championships where Delta State were the team runners-up.
