December Issue of Swimming World Magazine Features Best of Morning Swim Show

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 2. THE December issue of Swimming World Magazine features some of the best interviews from the Morning Swim Show this past year.

Here's a list of the interviews featured:

Best of Morning Swim Show
MARY DeSCENZA (Feb. 11)
Mary DeScenza started her year with an American record in the 200 yard butterfly at the Long Beach stop of the USA Swimming Grand Prix series. DeScenza relives her emotions upon setting the record and talks about what's in store for the remainder of the year. Her coach, Jack Bauerle, also joined the show to talk about training DeScenza and previewed the upcoming SEC championships. USC water polo coach Jovan Vavic talked about the women's water polo team and how the men's NCAA championship can motivate the women.

DARA TORRES (March 4)
Dara Torres joins the show one day before returning to competition after winning three silver medals at the Olympic Games. She talks about recovering from injuries and how she's working toward a berth on the World Championship team. Her coach, Michael Lohberg, also joined the show to give an update on his recovery from aplastic anemia and how he has helped Torres return to the pool to begin training for competition this summer.

CESAR CIELO (May 26)
Olympic champion Cesar Cielo talks about the reception in his native Brazil since winning Olympic gold, where he keeps his medals and what's it like swimming with some of the fastest people in the world. Dorsey Tierney-Walker discusses the reasons behind choosing Arizona State University for her next coaching job and what plans she has to rebuild the program's legacy.

FRAN CRIPPEN (Aug. 31)
Open water swimmer Fran Crippen details the circumstances behind his controversial final 50 meters in the 10K swim at the World Championships and what it's like training for Coach Dick Shoulberg. Stewart Goossens relives the experience of being the youngest American to swim across the Strait of Gibraltar, including near run-ins with large boats and gunships.

ELIZABETH BEISEL (Nov. 6)
Always an exciting guest on the show, Elizabeth Beisel talks about the tough recruiting process, why she picked the University of Florida and why she looks forward to Chuck Batchelor's annual 50 x 400 workout on Columbus Day.
