Dartmouth Men And Women Win University of Tampa Relay Carnival

TAMPA, Florida, January 4. DARTMOUTH College brought home the men’s and women’s team titles this afternoon at the Tampa Relay Carnival after winning 15 of the 20 relays contested.

The No. 6 University of Tampa men’s swimming program took a second place finish with 499 while the No. 13 women placed third with a score of 390 at the annual Tampa Relay Carnival. Dartmouth College took first for both the men (505) and women (534) to win the meet while the women’s program of Bowling Green State University placed second with a 398 score.

The event featured six programs as both the men (356) and women (246) of State College of New York at Geneseo, the women of Minnesota-Moorhead (184) and Misericordia men’s (192) and women’s teams(74) were in attendance.

The Tampa men took first in three events on the day to garner a close second place finish. The Spartan men took the 8×50 yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 2:54.22 behind the efforts of Ricardo Moscoso, Damen Pheiffer, Scott Nocco, Runar Borgen, Derek Krell, Max Coulls, Martin Hammer and Kyle Freudiger.
The UT men finished first in the 3×166 yard SNARF relay with a combined time of 5:12.63 as the trio of Jonathan Hofrichter, Danny Duhig and Jeremy Parker claimed the victory.

The Spartans won the final event of the day, the men’s 400 yard freestyle relay as Hammer, Phieffer, Coulls and Krell combined for a winning time of 3:12.44 to end the meet.

Tampa will compete in its final regular season meet at Rollins vs. Kentucky on Jan. 11th at 1 p.m.
