Dartmouth Adds Summer Martin to Class of 2021

Summer Martin has verbally committed to swim at Dartmouth College beginning in the fall of 2017. The high school senior has received her likely letter from the Ivy League institution.

Martin attends Strath Haven High School in Wallingford, Pennsylvania and swims for the Suburban Seahawks under Coach Charlie Kennedy. In addition to being a strong swimmer, she is a three year varsity cross country runner and a member of the team’s seventh place 2015 state team. Additionally, Martin is a Congressional Scholar Athlete (US Rep. Patrick Meehan PA 7th District).

200 Free 1:52.50
100 Fly 57.31
100 Breast 1:07.96

In the 100 freestyle Martin would have finished just .03 shy of scoring at the 2016 Ivy League Championships. Dartmouth freshman Laura Barthold (51.62) was the team’s only scorer in the event and will overlap with Martin for two years.

Martin said of her decision,

“So happy to announce my commitment to swim for Dartmouth next year. I couldn’t ask for a better swim team, better coaches, and a better opportunity to grow and be challenged in and out of the pool. GO GREEN!”
