Danielle Hepler, Men’s Depth Pace Texas A&M Sweep

Texas A&M celebrated its senior day with a sweep of Southern Methodist University on Friday night, the men’s and women’s team scoring decisive victories.

On the women’s side, the 22nd-ranked Aggies took home a 174-114 victory. The No. 23 men’s team tallied a 178-115 victory.

Danielle Hepler led the way for the women’s team. She won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.25 and followed up with a victory in the 100 butterfly in 55.39. Hepler also swam a leg on the victorious 200 free relay.

Bobbi Kennett added wins in the 200 individual medley and 100 free. She was also second in the 100 breaststroke.

The Aggies picked up a clean sweep of victories. Abby Grottle won the 1,000 free and was second in the 500. Jordan Buechler claimed the 100 backstroke in 55.98, was second to Helper in the 100 fly and handed off to her in the 200 free relay. Charlotte Longbottom won the 100 breast and was second to teammate Joelle Reddin in the 200. Chloe Stepanek won the 50 free in 23.13 and was second in the 1,000 free and 200 back.

Other winners included Sarah Holt (200 fly), Aviv Barzelay (200 back) and Mollie Wright (500 free). Payton Props and Aimee Wilson divvied up the diving honors.

Tyler Hulet, Trey Dickey and Andres Puente won two events each for the Aggies. Hulet swept the backstroke events. Puente was tops in both breaststroke swims to go with breaststroke duty on the winning 200 medley relay. Dickey claimed the 1,000 free and 200 back.

Relay winner Jace Brown won the 100 fly. Luke Stuart claimed the 200 fly, Seth Reno was quickest in the 50 and Kaloyan Bratanov won the 100 free, anchored the winning 200 free relay and notched a pair of runner-up finishes. Victor Povzner won both diving events.

Colin Feehery got a win for the Mustangs in the 200 free in a time of 1:39.21. He later added the 200 IM triumph in 1:49.54.
