Czech Winter Championships: Jana Klusackova, Martin Verner Double on Final Day

PARDUBICE, Czech Republic, March 2. ON the final day of long course competition at the Czech Winter Championships, Jana Klusackova and Martin Verner each doubled at the meet held in Pardubice.

Klusackova emerged triumphant in the 50 fly (28.02) and 100 free (56.30), while Verner did the same with times of 24.77 and 50.32, respectively. That gave Verner four titles at the meet, as he had previously won the 50 back and 50 free crowns.

Jana Pechanova matched Verner's title output with a fourth crown when she clocked an 8:59.67 in the women's 800 free to add to her wins in the 200 free, 400 free and 1500 free.

Petra Chocova and Jiri Jedlicka each captured a breaststroke brace with wins at the 200 distance. Chocova clocked in at 2:35.97, while Jedlicka touched in 2:17.21.

Kvetoslav Svoboda earned his third title of the meet when he hit the wall in 4:27.84 in the men's 400 IM. That went with his wins in the 200 free and 400 free.

Other winners included Silvie Rybarova in the women's 400 IM (5:01.86), Alena Nyvltova in the women's 100 back (1:06.25), Michal Spurny in the men's 800 free (8:22.51) and Tomas Fucik in the men's 100 back (57.95).
