Czech Winter Championships: First Day Complete

PARDUBICE, Czech Republic, February 29. THE first day of swimming came to a close at the Czech Winter Championships held in Pardubic, Czech Republic. No one claimed multiple medals on the day.

The meet opened with the 50 free. Sandra Kazikova walked away with the women's title in 25.99, while Martin Verner claimed the men's in 23.57.

In the 50 breast, Petra Chocova won for the women in a time of 33.06, while Jiri Jedlicka clocked a 28.59 to emerge from the men's championship heat.

Middle distance events followed as Simona Baumrtova hit the wall first in the women's 200 back in 2:20.21, while Martin Badura captured the men's title with a time of 2:06.25.

In the 400 free, Jana Pachanova earned first with a 4:22.24, while Kvetoslav Svoboda touched in 3:56.55 for the win.

Andrea Balasova grabbed the women's 100 fly title with a time of 1:04.13, while Michal Rubacek finished first among the men in 54.22.

Anna Novakova (2:23.70) and Dominik Bartos (2:06.45) dropped the curtain on the night of swimming with wins in the 200 IM events.
