Cullen Jones took to the pool this morning, though it was not his usual lane space in Charlotte. Instead, he appeared on Good Morning America in a temporary pool set up in Times Square.

Jones and two other athletes demonstrated some Speedo FIT exercises while EXOS founder Mark Verstegen spoke about the program. EXOS is a Speedo FIT partner.

While showcasing the workout, Jones and his two companions donned sneakers in the water. They used kettle bells to help with squat jumps, and specially designed paddles, which allowed them to replicate some weightlifting exercises, utilizing the water for resistance.

Verstegen spoke about the benefits of activity in the water, in addition to the goals of the program.

Jones spoke about his swimming start, which included lessons after he nearly drowned. The 32 year old will try to qualify for his third straight Olympic Games later this month in Omaha. He most recently raced this past weekend at SwimMAC’s Road to Rio meet.
