CSU Bakersfield Vs. UC Santa Barbara

BAKERSFIELD, California, November 17. CSU Bakersfield played host to the traveling UC Santa Barbara swim teams this Saturday at CSUB's Hillman Aquatics Center. The Gauchos were able to defeat the Roadrunners on both sides of the pool, marking their second weekend in a row of victorious meets. Junior Chris Good once more earned double victories in the men's win over CSUB, helping the Gauchos win 128-75. Sophomore Katie Ure also racked up two individual wins on the women's side, to help claim a 152-77 victory over the Roadrunners.

The meet opened up with Brittany Borowitz, Carri Cook, Jamie Cisar, and Nadia Dwidar taking the 400 medley relay by over six seconds from their closest competitor (4:00.99). However, the men could not repeat the women's success and lost a close race to the Roadrunners.

Two freshmen, Cisar and Kevin Kuhn, also garnered their first college wins by defeating her opponents in the 100 free with times of 54.35 and 46.73, respectively.

Junior Nadia Dwidar swam two seconds faster than her competition to place first in the 200 free (1:54.06). For the second week in a row sophomore Naomi Javanifard beat her opponents to claim the number one spot in the 50 free (24.40). Junior Jeff Sudbury held off the pack in the 50 free to continue his domination of the event (21.02).
