CSL Hires Two-Time Olympian Brittany MacLean as Analyst for First Stop
Olympian an NCAA champion Brittany MacLean has been one of the world’s most prominent swimming analysts in her work for CBC.
The College Swimming League (CSL) announced the hiring of MacLean to be the analyst for the first to matches of the CSL season in Westmont, Ill.
“Excited to be part of the team!” Brittany MacLean wrote on social media. “Colour commentary for matches 1 & 2 let’s do this.”
The matches are Sept. 24-25 and will be broadcast on ESPN+. MacLean will be teamed up with play-by-play announcer Kevin Cargill, no stranger himself to announcing at the pool.
“Swimming deserves commentators who know, follow, and care about the sport,” CSL C.O.O. Kyle Sockwell wrote in a social media post. “Brittany is exactly that, and that’s why she’ll be our lead analyst in Westmont.”
MacLean represented Canada in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and won a bronze medal as part of the 800 free relay. She is a two-time world junior champion and former Canadian record-holder in the 400 free and junior world record holder in the 200 free.
In her international career, she has one silver medal and eight bronze medals in major competitions.
She also was an NCAA champion multiple years, leading the Bulldogs to a pair of team championships.
