CSCAA Announces Newest Rankings

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 15. AT this time of the season there is very little dual meet action taking place. The light schedule translates into a similar amount of change in this week's CSCAA Top 25 Dual Meet Rankings. Each poll has the same team ranked first, Stanford for the women and Texas for the men. Additionally, all 25 teams stayed the same in each ranking with no team moving more than one position.

The newest set of rankings includes 16 institutions that find themselves in each poll. The Pac-10 Conference has five of these schools; Arizona, Arizona State, California, Southern California, and Stanford. The SEC has four schools with such a distinction; Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. Both the ACC and Big 10 each have three universities ranked for men and women. Florida State, North Carolina, and Virginia are members of the ACC while Indiana, Michigan, and Minnesota belongs to the Big Ten. The last two institutions are Texas, who represents the Big 12, and Notre Dame who competes in the Big East.

This year's poll will be published nine times and the champions will be crowned on February 22, 2007. Pollsters representing eight conferences along with two at-large voters have the task of ranking the top dual meet teams in the nation bi-weekly throughout the season. Additionally, the group of pollsters is completely different for the men's and women's rankings. This poll should not be confused with the results of the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving championships that will take place in March.

The next poll results will be released on January 9, 2007.
