NEW COMMIT: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has picked up a new commitment for their Class of 2025 from Jolie Kim of Denver, Colo.

She told Swimming World:

“So excited and humbled to announce my comMITment to continue my athletic and academic career at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ever since I walked into campus and spoke with the team, I knew it was the place I wanted to be. Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches for supporting me for helping me get here. I’m thrilled to spend the next 4 years with such an inspirational group of people. GO BEAVERS!! ️??”

A talented butterflyer and freestyler, Kim does her club swimming with University of Denver Hilltoppers and most recently won the 1000 free at Phoenix Sectionals last month where she was also the runner-up in the 200 fly. She also had a strong showing at Colorado Seniors in February 2020.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 57.30
  • 200 fly – 2:06.47
  • 200 free – 1:54.21
  • 500 free – 5:03.16
  • 1000 free – 10:37.03
  • 1650 free – 17:33.50

Also competing for Kent Denver School, Kim is an eight-time Colorado 3A State Championship finalist. She won the 500 free and took second in the 200 free as a senior while taking first in both the 500 free and 200 IM as a junior. She also finished fifth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 200 IM during her sophomore season.

Kim will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season. She would’ve been the Beavers’ top swimmer in the 500/1000/1650 free and third in the 100 fly. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 fly and 200/500 free, as well as placed top-8 in the mile, at the 2020 NEWMAC Championships.
