College Swim Coaches Release Latest Dual Meet Rankings Update

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 4. THE College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its latest dual meet rankings yesterday.

The Georgia women and Texas men stand out with top rankings, while Auburn's women claimed a first-place vote to stand second and Stanford's men earned a runner-up finish as well.

Here is the complete text of the release sent out by the organization:

There have been quite a few invitational meets over the past two weeks. As a result, there have been only a handful of dual meets, with few meet results warranting major shifts in the national rankings. In fact, there was no change in the women's top 25, while the men's rankings saw only minor shifts: Stanford and Arizona traded places, with the Cardinal jumping to #2 behind Texas and the Wildcats dropping to third. Penn State showed the biggest gain, moving from the #19 to the #16 spot while Southern Cal fell four places, from 16th to 20th.

This year's poll will be published eight times and the champions will be crowned on February 27, 2008. Pollsters representing eight conferences along with two at-large voters have the task of ranking the top dual meet teams in the nation bi-weekly throughout the season. Additionally, the group of pollsters is completely different for the men's and women's rankings. This poll should not be confused with the results of the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving championships that will take place in March.
