Coimbra International: Nadia Morais Vieira, Sara Freitas Oliveira Set National Records

COIMBRA, Portugal, May 31. A pair of national records fell at the two-day Coimbra International held in Portugal over long course meters.

Nadia Morais Vieira clipped her national record in the women's 200 IM with a 2:19.80. That time edged the 2:19.90 she set at this meet last year.

Sara Freitas Oliveira beat the national mark in the women's 50 fly with a 27.44. That clocking cleared her 27.63 set in Paris in 2007. She also turned in a meet record in the women's 100 fly with a 1:00.16. That performance cleared the 1:00.56 set by Marieke Guehrer last year.

Eleni Kosti garnered a meet record in the women's 200 free with a 2:02.92. That effort erased the 2:03.42 set by Sara Beatriz Loureiro a year ago. Kosti earned another title with a 57.33 in the women's 100 free.

Ioannis Drymonakos lowered the meet record in the men's 400 IM with a 4:20.44. That swim beat the 4:24.56 Diogo Filipe Carvalho set in 2008. Drymonakos also doubled with a win in the men's 200 IM in 2:02.76. He returned to with a meet record in the men's 200 fly with a 1:57.68 for his third victory. That time crushed the 2:01.51 set by Pedro Diogo Oliveira in 2007.

Kim Vandenberg posted a 2:11.08 in the women's 200 fly to beat the meet record. That time lowered her 2009 effort of 2:12.10.

Imri Ganiel downed the meet record in the men's 100 breast with a 1:04.08. That time beat the 1:04.53 set by Andre Miguel Silva in 2009. Ganiel also won the men's 50 breast in 29.34.

Anna Volchkov won the women's 200 back in 2:17.94, lowering the meet record of 2:20.14 set by Marta Pereira Abreu last year.

Yakov Yan Toumarkin posted a 2:01.59 in the men's 200 back. That swim beat the meet record of 2:02.12 set by Randall Bal in 2008.

Ana Ribeiro Ferreira clocked a 4:24.57 in the women's 400 free. She downed her 2009 meet mark of 4:25.34.

Marta Vieira Marinho snatched the women's 100 back in 1:03.85. She then doubled with a 30.11 in the women's 50 back.

Randall Bal posted the top time in the men's 100 back in 54.93, before doubling up with a 25.21 in the men's 50 back.

Ana Marisa Brito won the women's 50 breast in 33.49. She also claimed the women's 100 breast in 1:13.82.

Simao Gomes Morgado claimed the men's 100 fly in 53.94. He returned in the men's 50 fly to win in 24.52.

Andreia Catarina Gomes won the women's 800 free in 9:05.27, while Paula Alexandra Oliveira claimed the women's 200 breast in 2:39.84.

Diogo Filipe Carvalho topped the men's 200 breast in 2:19.37, while Nikol Samsoniuk won the women's 50 free in 26.70.

Paulo Jorge Santos earned the men's 50 free title in 22.96, while Duarte Rafael Mourao touched first in the men's 200 free with a 1:51.67.

Rui Felipe Costa won the men's 1500 free in 15:57.43, while Marta Pereira Abreu won the women's 400 IM in 5:03.19.

Konstadinos Siokos touched first in the men's 100 free with a 51.14, while Christos Moutsos won the men's 400 free in 4:00.88.

In relay action, Marta Vieira Marinho, Sara Freitas Oliveira, Joana Catarina Carvalho and Alexandra Paiva Oliveira set a meet record in the women's 200 medley relay with a 1:57.40. Israel's David Gamburg, Yakov Yan Toumarkin, Imri Ganiel and Almog Olshtein won the men's 200 medley relay in 1:44.74.

Alexandra Paiva Oliveira, Joana Aguiar Rodrigues, Marta Vieira Marinho and Sara Freitas Oliveira set a meet record in the women's 400 free relay with a 4:00.08. Paulo Jorge Santos, Carlos Filipe Santos, Joao Filipe Carvalho and Rui Filipe Vilar won the men's 400 free relay in 3:30.80.

Israel's Doron Levy, Daiana Sarichev, Martina Marks and Nikol Samsoniuk won the women's 200 free relay in 1:48.59. Paulo Jorge Santos, Carlos Felipe Santos, Joao Filipe Carvalho and Rui Filipe Vilar topped the men's 200 free relay in 1:33.66.

Marta Vieira Marinho, Sara Freitas Oliveira, Joana Catarina Carvalho and Alexandra Paiva Oliveira set a meet record in the women's 400 medley relay with a 4:20.15. Israel's Yakov Yan Toumarkin, Almog Olshtein, Imri Ganiel and David Gamburg followed with a meet record in the men's 400 medley relay with a 3:49.36.
