Class of 2011 Swimming World Five Stars Kelsey LeNeave, Steve Schmuhl Make College Choices; Other Recruits Make Commitments

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 13. SWIMMING World five stars Kelsey LeNeave and Steve Schmuhl of the Class of 2011 have made their college commitments.

LeNeave, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is an all-around competitor who will be headed to the University of Texas after this year.

"I chose Texas because I fell in love with every part of the school when I visited," LeNeave told Swimming World. "From the amazing women on the team, to the world-class coaching staff, the close-knit team atmosphere, the school spirit, excellent academics, and literally every aspect of school. Texas really is the perfect fit all around for me and I am honestly so excited to become a part of the Longhorn legacy…Hook em!"

LeNeave swims for The Woodlands Swim Team and preps at Conroe High in Conroe, Texas. She has multiple long course senior national cuts: 200m free 2:02.48; 400m free 4:14.22; 800m free 8:47.54; 200m IM 2:17.12; 400m IM 4:50.06.

Schmuhl, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is an all-around threat who will be headed to Indiana University.

"Indiana is without a doubt the perfect place for me!" Schmuhl told Swimming World. "I fell in love with the campus, the coaches, and above all the team. I am so excited to be a Hoosier next year and be part of the awesome IU swimming legacy!"

Schmuhl swims for Boulder Swimming and preps at Legacy High in Boulder, Colo. He has multiple long course senior national cuts: 200m free 1:52.14; 100m back 0:57.58; 200m back 2:03.95; 200m IM 2:06.78.

Meanwhile, four-star Charlie Putnam, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a backstroke specialist from Machine Aquatics who will be headed to the University of Virginia.

Four-star Heather Harper, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a breaststroker from PRO Swimming who will be headed to Boise State.

Three-star Matthew Roe, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a distance freestyler from Cascade Swim Club who will be headed to UNLV.
