Class of 2011 Swimming World Five-Star Carlos Omana Makes College Choice

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 28. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Carlos Omana concluded his college recruiting process recently, and he's remaining in the south.

Omana, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a distance specialist who will be headed to the University of Florida after his senior year of high school.

"As a student-athlete, the University of Florida is the perfect package for me," Omana told Swimming World. "As a student, great academics and as an athlete, being a Gator means being taken to the next level, based on a combination of an elite group of swimmers to train with, outstanding facilities and experienced coaching and supportive staff."

Omana, who swims for the Metro Aquatic Club in Miami and preps at Belen Jesuit, has four long course senior national cuts: 400m free 3:58.40; 1500m free 15:31.93; 200m IM 2:05.77; 400m IM 4:20.68.
