Claire Adams completed her sweep of the backstroke events at U.S. Nationals in San Antonio with a win in the 200 back on Sunday night. Adams trailed Megan Romano and Danielle Galyer for most of the race before charging to the lead with a 32.36 split on the final lap. Adams’ final time of 2:09.44 ranks her 17th in the world and fourth among Americans.

After the race, Adams talked to Swimming World about her race plan for the 200 back and which event she prefers, the 100 or 200. She also spoke about her upcoming trip to the World Junior Championships and shared what it means to her to represent Team USA.
