CIJ Meet: Yannick Lebherz Shines During Final Two Days

KIRSCHBERG, Luxembourg, April 27. AFTER a day of preliminary qualifying highlighted yesterday, Yannick Lebherz finished the last two days with three victories at the CIJ Meet held in Luxembourg.

Lebherz set a meet record with a time of 4:28.01 in the men's 400 IM. He also won the 50 (27.72) and 100 (57.67) back events.

Marco Koch, meanwhile, claimed the 50 (28.99) and 200 (2:15.55) breaststroke events with the 200 being a meet record. For the women, Dana Gales captured the 50 (31.34) and 100 (1:07.07) backstrokes as the only other multiple winner of the past two days.

Benjamin Bilski (50 fly – 25.02) and Joel Ax (100 free – 52.92) also set meet records for the men, while three other meet records fell for the women. Nathlie Lindborg clocked a time of 56.36 in the 100 free, while Noora Laukkanen touched in 2:36.12 in the 200 breast. Additionally, Nicole Lindborg set the 50 free meet record with a 26.08.

Bjorn Gunnarson was the only other men's winner in 23.94 in the 50 free. Melina Heikkinen (50 fly – 28.82), Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir (50 breast – 33.36) and Lieke Verouden (400 IM – 5:06.45) rounded out wins for the women.
