Nora Deleske has verbally committed to Bob Bowman‘s Arizona State University swim team. Deleske swims for Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, California.

Swimming for Edison High School, she was the CIF Southern Division 1 Section Champion in the 200 IM in May, posting her lifetime best time.

In yards, her best times are:

  • 200 IM 1:59.53
  • 400 IM 4:18.84
  • 100 Breast 1:01.88
  • 200 Breast 2:12.72
  • 200 Fly 2:02.06

Deleske swam the 200 breaststroke and 200 and 400 IMs at Olympic Trials this summer. She also raced both breaststroke events at Winter Nationals last year, with her highest finish (22nd) coming in the 200 breaststroke.

The high school senior will be a welcome addition to the Sun Devil squad, as she’ll arrive in Tempe with immediate Pac 12 scoring ability. In 2016 Arizona State finished eighth of nine teams, but only 66 points behind the sixth place Utah Utes.

At last year’s meet, her best 200 breaststroke time would have finished 12th. Freshman Marlies Ross (2:11.13) was the team’s top finisher in ninth. Deleske would also be a B finalist in the 100 breaststroke. She’ll have another good training match in Kayla Philapil (1:02.32) who will also be a junior in the 2017-2018 season. On day three of the Pac 12 meet, Ross chose the 400 IM instead of the 100 breaststroke. Deleske would also be a B finalist in both IM events. She’ll have great training partners regardless of where the Sun Devils coaches focus her efforts.
