China’s He Zi Captures One-Meter Diving Gold at Worlds

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 23. CHINA's He Zi gave her country another diving gold medal, this time in the one-meter competition at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

He won a battle with Canada's Blythe Hartley for the gold medal with 316.65 points. Her best dive came in the fourth round with 72.00 points coming from a reverse 2.5 somersault from the tuck position.

Meanwhile, Hartley scored silver for Canada with 311.20 points to finish ahead of bronze-medalist Yuliya Pakhalina of Russia (304.60).

The top American effort came by way of a sixth-place finish from Allison Brennan (287.75).
