Camryn Forbes has announced her intention to transfer from Indiana University to the University of Pittsburgh. Originally from Butler, Pennsylvania, Forbes verbally committed to the Hoosiers in September of her senior year.

This year she scored points at the Big Ten Championships for Indiana with a 15th place finish in the 200 backstroke in 1:57.47, well off her lifetime best of 1:54.83 set at YMCA Nationals in her senior year. She did post a best time in the 200 IM (2:00.23) at Big Tens.

Forbes best times include:

  • 200 Back 1:54.83
  • 100 Back 53.94
  • 50 Back 25.60
  • 200 IM 2:00.23
  • 100 Free 50.07
  • 200 Free 1:48.76

Forbes’ lifetime best would make her Pitt’s school record holder (1:55.15) in the 200 backstroke. She also would have been the second best 100 backstroker this year, and third on the depth chart in the 200 IM and 100 and 200 freestyles.

Forbes would have scored in the 200 back B final and 200 IM C final at February’s ACC Championships.

She wrote in her Instagram announcement,

“Very excited to announce my commitment to the University of Pittsburgh to continue my collegiate swimming career and academics! Thank you to everyone who has supported me. #H2P”

This news comes on the same day that Indiana announced the addition of All-American Bailey Andison.
