Cal Sweeps Arizona Behind Speed of Isabelle Stadden, Destin Lasco

The Cal swim teams swept Arizona in a Pac-12 dual meet on Friday. The Bears won the women’s meet 181-5-110.5 and the men won 183-110.

In the women’s meet, Cal started with a win in the 200 medley relay. Isabelle Stadden, Jade Neser, Mckenna Stone and Morgan Brophy won in 1:36.41.

Neser won the 100 breaststroke in 59.56. Stone won the 50 free in 22.50 ahead of Brophy (22.94) and also won the 100 butterfly (52.08).

Cal’s Leah Polonsky won the 1000 freestyle (9:47.50) and 200 backstroke (1:56.97). Rachel Klinker won the 200 free (1:47.02). Mia Motekaitis won the 100 backstroke and 500 free (4:43.16). Emily Gantriis won the 100 free in 49.81. Hannah Brunzell won the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.07.

Stadden had the fastest time in the 200 IM (1:58.74), though was exhibitioned.

Arizona’s Julia Heimstead won the 200 butterfly in 1:56.82. Brooke Earley won 1-meter diving with 268.95 points and 3-meter (281.33).

In the men’s meet, Cal’s Destin Lasco, Liam Bell, Roman Jones and Jack Alexy won the 200 medley relay in 1:23.55.

Lasco won the 200 free (1:32.68) ahead of Alexy (1:32.74) in a 1-2 finish and Lasco also won the 100 butterfly (45.73) in a 1-2 finish with Gabriel Jett (45.78).

Cal’s Trent Frandson won the 1000 free (9:04.18). Bjorn Seeliger won the 100 backstroke (44.99). Jett won the 200 butterfly in 1:42.35. Robin Hanson won the 50 free in 19.50. Colby Mefford won the 200 backstroke in 1:42.21. Jacob Soderlund won the 200 breast (1:55.36). Keaton Jones won the 500 free (4:20.37).

Forrest Frazier was exhibitioned but was the fastest in the 100 breast (53.41). Matthew Jensen was fastest in the 200 IM (1:45.58).

Cal’s Joshua Thai won 1-meter diving(325.65).

Arizona’s Ralph Daleiden Ciuferri won the 100 free in 42.68. Gage Dubois won 3-meter diving with 355.95 points.
