NEW COMMIT: Half Moon Bay, Calif. native Eve Kearns has announced her commitment to Washington University in St. Louis beginning in the fall of 2020.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m excited to swim for WashU next year!”

A talented butterflyer and IMer, Kearns does her club swimming with Burlingame Aquatic Club and most recently achieved 100% best times at the Juanita Allington Memorial Swim Meet where her highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 200 fly. Last summer, she raced four events at Far Westerns and competed at Mount Hood Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 100 Fly – 57.61
  • 200 Fly – 2:07.80
  • 200 IM – 2:12.19
  • 400 IM – 4:37.20

A current senior at Half Moon Bay High School, Kearns is also a three-time CIF Central Coast Section Championship qualifier. She will be a valuable addition to WashU, who finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 UAA Championships under head coach Brad Shively.
