Brown vs. Cornell

ITHACA, New York, February 9. THE Brown women's swimming and diving team (2-4, 2-4) earned a 162-138 victory over Cornell on Saturday afternoon. The Bears won 10 total events with freshman Sage Erskine (Arlington, VA) earning victories in the 100 back and 200 back, and senior Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI) posting a pair of individual wins in the 100 breast and 200 breast. Both Erskine and Wyatt were also a part of the 200 medley relay, which also claimed first.

Brown opened the meet with a second place finish on the 3-meter dive, as junior Jessica Williams (McLean, VA) scored a 232.57, good for second.

The 200 medley relay team of Erskine, Wyatt, senior Lauren Zatorski (Winnetka, IL), and freshman Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim (Albuquerque, NM) followed, earning first with a time of 1:49.46.

Junior Ainsley McFadgen (Glace Bay, NS) won the first individual swimming event, earning a time of 10:29.88 in the 1000 free. Senior Dillon Delaney (Barnstable, MA) came in second with a time of 10:48.25.

Freshman Stephanie Pollard (Victoria, BC) led Brown in the 200 free, coming in second with a time of 1:54.63. Erskine followed with her win in the 100 back (58.94), while Wyatt's win the 100 breast (1:08.28) was next. Sophomore Bailey Langner (Martinez, CA) was also in the top-three in the 100 breast, coming in third with a time of 1:10.14.

Freshman Natascha Mangan (Keizer, OR) won the 200 fly in a time of 2:06.90, while Sisouvanvieng-Kim led Brown in the 50 free, placing second with a time of 24.65.

The Bears had two divers in the top three in the 1-meter dive, as senior Jacqueline Rudis (North Andover, MA) won with a score of 214.71. Sophomore Katie Olko (Harrison, NY) was not too far behind, earning third place with a score of 213.67.

Pollard led Brown in the 100 free, placing third with a time of 53.56, while Erskine and freshman Kelley Wisinger (Warren, NJ) earned a one-two finish in the 200 back with times of 2:06.21 and 2:06.66, respectively.

Brown also had a one-two sweep in the 200 breast, led by Wyatt's 2:27.52. Langner was second with a time of 2:28.26.

The Bears won two of the final four events, as McFadgen was first in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.12. Freshman Katherine Wargo (Killingworth, CT) was third with a time of 5:17.21. Mangan then took second in the 100 fly, posting a time of 57.59, while Pollard (2:11.30) and Wisinger (2:12.16) earned a one-two sweep in the 200 IM.

Brown closed the meet with a second and third place finish in the 400 free relay, as the team of sophomore Susannah Ford (Cambridge, MA), junior Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA), Pollard, and Sisouvanvieng-Kim earned a time of 3:37.16, and the team of Erskine, Zatorski, McFadgen, and Wyatt posted a time of 3:39.92.
