Brown has added another high school senior to the men’s Class of 2021. Kevin Gu has given the University his verbal commitment. Gu swims for Condors Swimming in New York. He attends Suffern High School. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American swam seven events at Winter Junior Nationals (East) last year. His performances there were highlighted by a finals swim in the 200 breaststroke.

Gu shared about his decision,

“I chose Brown University because of their ability to produce excellent athletes and excellent scholars. Additionally the bond that the team and coaches have formed is unparalleled by any other. I’m really looking forward to pursue my goals, academically and athletically, with my new family over at Brown University. Go Bruno!!”

Gu’s best times are:

  • 100 Breast 56.23
  • 200 Breast 2:00.46
  • 200 IM 1:50.88
  • 400 IM 3:57.85
  • 100 Back 51.38
  • 200 Back 1:50.09

Last week Alex Park also gave his verbal commitment to Brown. Park is also a versatile addition to the team. Gu would have contributed to Brown’s Ivy League scoring last year. His best 100 and 200 breaststroke times would have made him a C finalist last year.
