Hulseman was given the honor based on a third-place finish in the 100 fly at the Show-Me-Showdown with a 50.21. That’s less than a second off his lifetime best. Hulseman said he’s been recruited to be the team’s top butterflyer this season, and he’s taken to the role well under former world-ranked butterflyer Jim Halliburton, who’s now coaching the Billikens. The fast swims so far this season comes from a new mental attitude to the sport. Hulseman said he’s stopped putting so much pressure on himself to swim well and just enjoy the sport. He’s looking forward to tomorrow’s meet to continue this successful start to the season.
