Taylor Cortens, Dan Kelly Win Twice as Boston College Men Win Over Marist

Two days after defeating Tufts, Boston College returned to the pool as the men beat Marist 160-140. The Eagle women fell to the Red Foxes 175-120.

Taylor Cortens won the 200 back (1:55.00) and 200 IM (1:57.63) and Dan Kelly won both the 50 free (20.90) and 100 free (46.83). McKenzie Cole (1:00.36) and Billy Miller (1:00.91) went 1-2 in the men’s 100 breast, and Cole later took first in the 200 breast (2:13.82). Ryan Murphy touched the wall first in the men’s 500 free (4:42.07), followed by teammate Anthony Richardson (4:46.43). Cole Malatesta won the men’s 3m diving event (341.55) and took second in the 1m (300.00). Other Eagle men event winners included Conor Chamness in the 100 back (52.04) and David Howard in the 200 fly (1:56.83).

Jordan Perry won the Eagle’s first event for the women, taking the top spot in the 100 fly in 59.12. The Eagle women swept the 200 IM, led by Erika Freeman (2:13.83) who also placed second in the 100 back (1:01.17). The 400 free relay team of Julie Dobson, Maureen Barron, Elizabeth Manning, and Gracie Kunkel took first in 3:38.95.

The Eagles return to competition for the Dartmouth Invite on January 22 and 23.
