Boston College Competes At Husky Invitational

Boston College competed at the annual Husky Open on Saturday, hosted by Connecticut. Providence, Boston, and Northeastern were also in attendance. The meet was not scored.

Amanda Bieler was the top finisher in the women’s 500, placing fifth (5:14.76), while Denis Reznik won the men’s event (4:42.25).

The Eagle men went 1-2-3 in the 200 IM, led by Matthew Zerweck (1:53.52). They also swept the men’s 100 breast, won by John Mooers (58.65).

Mary Fitzsimmons won the women’s 200 back (2:07.57), and Connor Futch won the men’s 200 back (1:54.76). Fitzsimmons later placed second in the 100 back (1:00.26).

Hope Dragelin (2:08.74) led the Boston College sweep in the women’s 200 fly. Danielle Homere placed third in the women’s 200 IM (2:12.33).

Estephen Saliba won the men’s 100 fly (50.76), and Cole Vanderwal won the men’s 100 free (47.02). Colin Derdeyn finished second in the men’s 50 free (21.29).

The Eagles return to the pool for the 2016 ACC Championships in Greensboro.
