All eyes will be on the state of Michigan this week as three intriguing meets will happen involving teams from the mitten.

The biggest meet of the week, possibly the season, in the Big Ten is the women’s meet between Michigan and Indiana. The conference championship has come down to these two powers the past few years with Michigan claiming the Big Ten title the past three years.

The Michigan seniors are looking to make a clean sweep of the Big Ten titles, and this will be a showdown to preview the conference meet.

The meet is on Thursday at Indiana and features some of the biggest names in college swimming with No. 2 Michigan’s Siobhan Haughey, Catie DeLoof, Miranda Tucker, Rose Bi and upstart freshman Maggie MacNeil. Meanwhile, No. 14 Indiana is led by Olympic gold medalist Lilly King and a slew of Hoosier depth that will make for an interesting meet.

The men’s meet will be just as interesting, too, with No. 3 Indiana’s Zach Apple, Ian Finnerty, Vini Lanza and Mohamed Samy up against No. 4 Michigan’s Felix Aubock, Jacob Montague and Ricardo Vargas.

Those same Michigan seniors looking to win another Big Ten title will turn around and celebrate senior day on Saturday with another rivalry meet, facing Ohio State.

The Michigan women’s seniors include Haughey, Bi, DeLoof, Taylor Garcia, Katie Duggan, Becca Postoll and Jamie Yeung.

The men’s seniors are Mokhtar Al-Yamani, Kai Williams, Jon Burkett and Stephen Holmquist.

Two other schools from Michigan will compete in a big meet this weekend.

On Saturday, Michigan State faces a tough test on both the men’s and women’s side facing in-state foe Oakland University. The Grizzlies have won more than 20 consecutive conference titles on both sides in the Horizon League and Summit League and have defeated the Spartans in the past. It should be an interesting meet.

On Friday, Minnesota travels to USC for a double dual with Oregon State.

On Friday and Saturday, Illinois will compete at Youngstown State.

On Saturday, Iowa will host Wisconsin and Northwestern in a double dual, while Penn State will host Bloomsburg.
