Bentley vs. Dartmouth

WALTHAM, Massachusetts, November 20. THE Bentley University women's swimming and diving team claimed every event en route to a 140-89 win over visiting UMass-Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Seniors Anne Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) and Emily Travers (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter HS) each won two individual events for the 3-0 Falcons, as did junior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy), sophomore Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and freshman Kellen Power (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS).

Kaduboski reached the finish line first in both the 400 yard individual medley (4:46.21) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.55). Hodsdon's wins came in the 100 freestyle (55.72) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.29). Both were also part of the Falcons' winning 400 medley relay team, which swam to a 4:10.56.

Boretti swept the long distance events, with times of 11:21.76 in the 1000 freestyle and 5:30.19 in the 500 free. Travers did the same in the diving, with scores of 2:21.84 in the one-meter and 249.37 on the three-meter. Powers swam to victory in the 100 butterfly (1:01.53) and the 200 free (2:00.78).

The other individual win for the Falcons was posted by freshman Jae Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS) in the 50 free, with a time of 25.81 seconds.

Led by senior Egen Ouellette (West Hartford, Conn./Conard HS), the Bentley University men's swim team improved to 3-0 with a 134-100 win over UMass-Dartmouth at the Dana Center pool Saturday afternoon.

Ouellette was the only Falcon to win two individual races as he captured the 500 yard freestyle in 5:14.19 and the 50 free in 22.67 seconds. He was also part of Bentley's winning 200 free relay team, combining with sophomore George Go (Manila, Philippines) and freshman Philip Chan (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) and Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS) for a time of 1:30.57.

Chan, Go and Sylvia also helped Bentley take the 400 medley relay in 3:50.60, with the fourth member of the quartet being freshman Peter Belanger (Andover/Andover HS). Go posted a win in the 100 backstroke (57.80) and Chan was first to the wall in the 100 free (51.12).

Bentley's other individual winners were senior Chris Horan (Hanover/Boston College HS) in the 1000 free (11:14.43), sophomore Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Reg. HS) in the 200 free (1:53.86), sophomore Mike Culkin (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) in the 400 individual medley (4:53.69) and senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) in the three-meter diving (258.12).
