Baylor’s Sam McHugh Runs Roughshod Over Baylor Aquatic Pool Record Book

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee, November 2. AT the Martha Bass Invitational hosted by the Baylor Swim Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., future Volunteer Sam McHugh rolled through the pool record books this afternoon.

According to Baylor head coach Dan Flack, McHugh blasted a trio of facility records in the 100-yard fly, 200-yard free and 400-yard IM.

McHugh first blasted a 1:40.30 in the 200-yard free, taking down the previous pool record of 1:40.6 held by Martin Grodzki. McHugh then clocked a 49.65 in the 100-yard fly to break the pool record of 50.0 previously owned by Reese Shirey. McHugh closed out the night with a 3:56.6 (official time not yet available) to demolish his previous mark of 4:03.2.

Luke Kaliszak, meanwhile, torched the facility standard in the 100-yard back with a 50.32. The swim by the future Alabama swimmer took down a 50.6 held by Shirey as well.
