NEW COMMIT: Alexa Lantin has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Boston College beginning next fall. Lantin is from Harrison, New York. She swims for Coach John Collins at Badger Swim Club and is a senior at The School of the Holy Child in Rye, New York.

Lantin said of her decision,

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to Boston college. I chose Boston College because I felt right at home the minute I set foot on campus. The more time that I spent with its amazing coaching staff and the entire team, the more I realized that I will be a part of a special family over the next four years. I’d like to thank my family, coach, school mentors, and friends who gave me the support that I needed during this amazing journey. Go BC!”

Lantin’s best times include:

  • 200 Breast 2:21.46
  • 100 Breast 1:07.51
  • 1000 Free 10:21.14
  • 1650 Free 17:24.58
  • 400 IM 4:32.51

At this year’s mid-season meet, the Terrier Invitational, the Eagles were led by Natalie Dalla Riva in the 400 IM (4:28.24). She should be a great training partner for Lantin. As of mid-season, Lantin would have been the Eagles’ leading miler, with her lifetime best. BC was led by Avrey Rocca (17:50.03) and Emily Mann (17:52.92) in that event. Taylor Covington (1:05.17), Maria Abrams (1:06.76) and Dakota Meyer (1:06.69) were top finishers for BC in the 100 breaststroke in mid-November.

Badger senior Andrew Babyak is also set to swim in college, verbally committing to the University of Michigan.
