Auburn’s Steve Segerlin Claims Second Diving Title With Tower Triumph

By Jason Marsteller

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 17. AUBURN's Steve Segerlin put an extra exclamation point on Auburn's fifth straight win when he tallied 414.90 points to out-duel Arizona State's Michele Benedetti (412.10) for the tower title. The win is Segerlin's second after winning the three-meter on the second night of competition.

It is also his second straight win in the event, which made him only the third diver to win multiple tower titles in a career behind Miami's Tyce Routson (three) and tied with Southern California's Brian Earley and Auburn's Cesar Garcia with two each.

Texas A&M's Eric Sehn rounded out the top three with 387.25 points.

Auburn improved its point total to 526, while Stanford remained in second with 367 points. Arizona (337), Florida (297) and Texas (268) completed the top five.
