Athletes Only Podcast: Five Men’s Swimmers to Watch at the Olympic Games in Paris (Video)

In his latest episode of the Athletes Only Podcast, host Kyle Millis focuses on five male swimmers who must be watched at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. With less than a week to go before the Games begin in the French capital, Millis (a former Cal Bear swimmer) examines a few of the most-intriguing storylines on the men’s side of action.

Among the athletes featured in the episode are Great Britain’s Adam Peaty, the United States’ Ryan Murphy and Caeleb Dressel and French star Leon Marchand. Each of the athletes has an intriguing storyline, as is often the case at the Olympics, and Millis does a superb job of breaking down what should be nine sensational days in Paris.

Marchand, of course, will be one of the headliners of the meet. Not only is the French star coming off three gold medals from last year’s World Championships in Fukuoka, he is expected to be the face of the Games. After all, he is racing in his homeland and will tackle a schedule that includes four individual events – 200 individual medley, 400 IM, 200 butterfly and 200 breaststroke.

Murphy, meanwhile, is looking to recapture the gold medals he won in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. As for Peaty, he is chasing a three-peat in the 100 breaststroke, with China’s Qin Haiyang as his top challenger.

Here is Millis’ latest podcast. Enjoy!

Great list, and fabulous delivery! I particularly liked that you did not just offer a talking head, but you put great clips to match your commentary. I might have enjoyed the clips a bit more if some came at slightly slower delivery. It made me dizzy, and felt a bit over-produced. But this is issue so minuscule — I loved the commentary and the videos correlated beautifully.

I personally am looking forward to seeing Carson Foster get some glory, but I realize he has a big ask with Marchand in the way. And rooting for Marchand is easy to do, anyway.

I can’t wait to see a similar piece like this for the ladies. Thanks!!
